Motion design is a relatively new trend in art. The techniques known in
graphic design for ages have just started being adopted in motion design. Every
day a new motion design work published on the web enjoys its 15 minutes of
fame. However, setting apart the impressive variety of works and their
unlimited capabilities, most of them subtly seem to have one thing in common.
These are the techniques which are common and well used not only in this
particular type of design, but in graphic design, interior design, object
design, etc. In this media environment they undergo transformations beyond
their recognition. However, basically they are still the same. The purpose of
the lecture is to learn more about these techniques by the example of the most
recent and compelling works and to demonstrate the areas of their
application. Artem Kurenkov is a motion designer and art director, presently cooperating with the leading design studions, digital agencies, and TV channels on a project basis. He also contributes to the process of creating graphic ideas for local and global brands. Furthermore, Artem is the author and curator of 2-year motion design training at Scream School.
