Join us for a special screening of the Emmy award-winning Robert Capa in
Love and War, which documents the story of the famous war photographer,
who founded the Magnum agency with Henri Cartier-Bresson in 1947. Capa, a
controversial figure, shot photographs of the Civil War in Spain, World War II,
the Arab-Israeli conflict in 1948, and the First Indochina War. However, his
most famous work – The Falling Soldier – was revealed to be completely
contrived – a fake. Among the famous names who provide insight into Capa’s life
are Henri Cartier-Bresson, Hiroji Kubota and Steven Spielberg. The film is
shown in English with Russian subtitles.
