The leading fashion houses’ tradition and practice of supporting contemporary art

Each teetering at the cutting edge of society - fashion and contemporary art are increasingly brought together. Elena Panteleeva, Editor-in-Chief of Winzavod ArtReview magazine, will explore why and how luxury fashion houses such as Cartier, Prada, Hugo Boss and Max Mara are not just aligned with contemporary art, but actively commissioning and supporting contemporary artists through their art foundations and awards.

Elena Panteleeva (b. 1973) is an art columnist. She started her career in 1993 at Radio 101 as the first Moscow FM radio host of an art program. She was a writer for such magazines as Elle and Sobesednik and for newspaper Arguments and Facts. She took part in creating first issues of ARTCHRONIKA magazine and has been a Head of Art Department of L’Officielle magazine for 10 years. In 2007 she formed the BLACKSQUARE art magazine.
