London Design Festival & Dutch Design Week 2010

News Report is a new event-lecture format launching this Autumn. The first part of the lecture will be an illustrated report from a specific cultural event or happening, and the second will provide an overview of the press coverage of the event.

Join expert Maria Privalova as she leads us on an insider-tour of two major design festivals that have emerged in last decade – London and Eindhoven – and how they reflect and contrast one another. London includes a commercial exhibition, city-wide museum projects and different design areas which strive for attention of visitors. In contrast, the Eindhoven festival is situated around University of Technology and Design Academy - famous for producing the future icons of the design world although the festival is sometimes considered provincial. Maria highlights the successes and the failures of each approach and the work, which is on show.
