The term 'new décor' was originally coined by the curator of this eponymous
exhibition. The term gathers all the creations that teeter on the edge of
contemporary art and design, be it installation or object. Previous eras
preferred the term 'style' to describe the affinity found between different
works of art, however the last greatest style of the 20th century was
considered to be Art deco. Tatiana Malinina, the author of the book Style
formula. Art deco: origins, areal variants, features of evolution will discuss
the difficulties in trying to create a steady stream of art references, and why
linguistic tricks make this a particularly difficult concept in the Russian
language. Tatiana Malinina - Doctor of Arts, professor, senior staff scientist
