From an envelope to an art-object - half a century of vinyl

Valery Posternak
October 9, Saturday
Lecture18:00

In the last 50 years, the vinyl sleeve has developed from perfunctory packaging to art-object. Discussing the different phases the design these iconic ‘envelopes’ have gone through is Valery Posternak, a devoted collector of vinyl, who produced his own album with the band Colney Hatch in the 1990s. Amongst other questions, Posternak will consider: what is happening to vinyl sleeves now? What are the differences between American and British designs? How were album sleeves decorated in the Soviet Union?

Limited places, drop in early to avoid disappointment.

Valery Posternak - collector of vinyl, music journalist, art director of Ikra club, first head editor of Billboard magazine (Russian edition).
