Performance: Beauty Line

Aki Sasamoto examines ritual and routine in Beauty Line, a performance that centers around the body, and specifically the inter-dependent movement and flow of blood, water, and alcohol.

Aki Sasamoto is a New York-based, Japanese artist who works in performance, sculpture and dance. Sasamoto studied at Columbia University, School of Arts, receiving her MFA in 2007. Sasamoto has exhibited and performed internationally, most recently at the Yokohama Triennale, Japan (2008); Deutsche Guggenheim, Berlin (2008); Perfoma in collaboration with Momus, New York (2009); Whitney Biennale, New York (2010). She is also co-director of Culture Push Inc.
