In a specially created lecture, Misha Baster will examine cultural subcultures,
particularly Moscow and Leningrad subcultures which emerged in the 1980s,
including rockers, punk, hippies and mods. Within the discussion, Baster will
explore how these influential groups both challenged accepted social clichés,
and reclaimed urban space through their unauthorized parades, performances and
