Performance of the 1990s: The Parallel Practices

Marina Perchinkhina, artist, theorist and founder of the Spider&Mouse gallery will examine video archives concentrating on the influential Escape Route group and how they brought together numerous languages and cultures and explored different strands of modern visual art theatre, music and rituals As part of «100 Years of Performance» 

The Escape Route group existed from 1994 till 2003 in Tsarskoye Selo. The members of the group work in the genres of video-performance, installation, object. Beginning with the project Boundaries in 1995, the group has been cooperating with the nonprofit gallery (art-space) Spider&Mouse.

Lecturer:

Marina Perchikhina (Mouse) is a performance maker, video artist, author of theoretical articles devoted to performance and video. She is a founder of the Museum of Unknown Artist and organizer, together with Igor Ioganson (Spider) of the non-profit gallery Spider&Mouse.
