Is it possible to conceive beauty as anything other than an aesthetic category? Contemporary art, in contrast to traditional art seemingly dissociates itself from the concept of beauty, and today beauty is most often found in examples of mass culture. As modern art becomes ever more dependent on the market, the rehabilitation of beauty is becoming more pertinent. Aronson explores the idea of beauty – the aesthetics and the economics and the boundaries of art.

Lecturer:

Oleg Aronson, candidate of philosophical science, senior research associate of the Institute of Philosophy of the Russian Academy of Sciences, associate professor of the Russian Anthropological School Institute of RGGU, author of numerous researches on modern philosophy, the theory of cinema, media and contemporary art.
