Join us for the first of a two-part short explorative course on the history,
and indeed future of performance art in Russia. Andrey Kovalev will be
considering such questions as: Can provocation and self-advertisement be
considered art? At what point do poetry readings and lectures become
performance art? Who succeeded from " Victories over the Sun "? Is there a
continuity between Futurism, groups and Alexander Brener? Is Russian
performance more group, or single-minded? Does performance art have a
future?
