Language immediately responds to the changes in society. The political system,
social consciousness and financial condition are reflected in the metamorphosis
of language – both spoken and written. As a result of this, in the twentieth
century there were also reverse processes: while inventing a new “utopian”
language and artificially adjusting an already existing language, the society
itself was changing. Social utopia changed the language, inventing new forms,
and while not all of the innovations took root, they undoubtedly left their
mark on Russian language and speech.
Join Boris Kupriyanov to discuss “Language Utopia” in which well-known
theorists of literature, and philosophers will speak about the development of
literature and linguistics.
Our moderator, Boris Kupriyanov is the founder of the bookstores Falanster,
Falanster at Winzavod and Garage.
